    Iranian female sprinter wins two gold medals at ASA Grand Prix

Pars Today – Iranian sprinter Maryam Toosi won two gold medals in the women's 100m and 200m at the 2024 Athletics South Africa (ASA) Grand Prix 2.

The popular Iranian sprinter won the 100m and 200m championships at the Bestmed Tuks Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa. She also improved her national record in the 200m. South African sprinter Jada Van Standen finished second in 23.71 seconds. The bronze medal went to South Africa's Nicola Van der Merwe in 24.02 seconds.

In these events, Toosi finished ahead of her rivals with a time of 23.35 seconds (+0.3), improving on the national record of 23.46 seconds that she had held for 11 years.

She also finished first in the 100 metres with a time of 11.60 seconds. Leonette Vosloo of South Africa was second in 11.72 seconds and the bronze medal went to Astrid Eva Van Hoorn of Mozambique in 11.79 seconds.
