  • For the 5th time, Iran's Taekwondo team secures Asian championship

Pars Today - Iran's national Taekwondo team won the championship title at the Asian Taekwondo Championships for the fifth time.

The 26th Asian Taekwondo Championships, which took place from May 16 to 18 in Da Nang, Vietnam, with the participation of 244 athletes from 33 countries, ended with the championship title of Iran's men's team.

At the end of the competitions, Iran's men's national Taekwondo team won five medals, including three gold medals (Mahdi Hajimousaei, Mohammad Hossein Yazdani, and Arian Salimi), one silver medal (Ali Khoshroo), and one bronze medal (Matin Rezaei), securing their fifth Asian championship title.

South Korea ranked second with three gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal, while Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia ranked third and fourth, respectively.

Iran's national Taekwondo team had previously won the championship title in 2008, 2010, 2014, and 2016.

Iranian female athletes, Melika Mirhosseini and Saeideh Nasiri, also won silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the women's section of the Asian Taekwondo Championships.
