Iran's national track & field team secures 21 gold medals, West Asia championship
Pars Today - Iran's national track and field team won the championship title in the West Asia competitions.
The West Asia track and field championship was held in Basra, Iraq from May 29th to June 2nd.
At the end of the competition, Iran's national team won the championship title with 21 gold, 16 silver, and 3 bronze medals. The host country, Iraq, came in second with 9 gold medals, 13 silver, and 17 bronze medals, while Qatar came in third with 6 gold medals, 2 silver, and 4 bronze medals.
The Iranian women showed brilliant performance in these competitions, securing 17 gold, 12 silver, and 2 bronze out of the 40 medals won by Iran, while also breaking four national records. In the men's section, Iranian athletes achieved 4 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze medal.
The Islamic Republic of Iran's national track and field team participated in the competitions with 40 athletes.
