Iran’s strongest man wins int’l championship in Uzbekistan
Pars Today - Reza Gheitasi, the strongest man of Iran, has won the international championship title of "Pourya-ye Vali" in Uzbekistan for the third consecutive year.
The international "Pourya-ye Vali" cup, also known as "Pahlevan Mahmoud", is held annually in Uzbekistan and is one of the top competitions in the world of strongmen.
Gheitasi, who had won the championship title in the previous two years, was in Uzbekistan to defend his title and successfully achieved a hat-trick by winning first place.
Mahmoud Kharazmi, known as Pourya-ye Vali, was a 7th and 8th AH hero, Sufi, and poet who holds a significant place in Iran's traditional sports and Zurkhaneh (a traditional Iranian gym). He is famous for his stories of chivalry and selflessness, and is considered one of the greatest heroes of Iran.
Prior to this, Reza Gheitasi, the strongest man of Iran, had won third place in the professional section of the Strongest Man of Russia competition.
