  •  Iran-Turkey trade sees 5% surge in first 5 months of 2024

Pars Today - The Turkish Statistical Institute has announced a 5% growth in trade between Iran and Turkey in the first 5 months of 2024 compared to the same period last year.

According to the institute, trade exchanges between the 2 countries in the first 5 months of 2024 have reached $2.3 billion, with a 5% growth. Pars Today reports that trade exchanges between Iran and Turkey in the same period of 2023 were $2.189 billion.

Based on this report, Turkey's exports to Iran from January to May 2024 have increased by 16% compared to the same period last year, reaching $1.34 billion. Turkey's imports from Iran during this period have been reported at $960 million.

In recent years, Iranian and Turkish officials have emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral relations in all fields, particularly economic, during bilateral meetings and phone conversations.

The historical, religious, and cultural ties between Iran and Turkey, as well as regional and international cooperation within the framework of organizations such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), have strengthened the friendly relations between these two neighboring Muslim countries.
