Organization of Islamic Cooperation: Haniyeh assassination violates Iran's sovereignty
Pars Today- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation, condemning assassination of chairman of Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, called Israel as the perpetrator of this criminal act.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) issued a statement on Wednesday evening at the urgent session of the body's executive committee of foreign ministers about the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh. The statement condemning this act of terror, stressed that it was an offense against Iran's sovereignty. According to Pars Today, the statement made it clear, "The assassination of Haniyeh was an aggressive crime and flagrant violation of international rules."
Elsewhere in the statement, the OIC strongly condemned the continuation of war in the Occupied Palestine and massacre of a group of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank which has led to the martyrdom and injury of more than 140 thousand Palestinians and forced migration of over 2 million citizens of the country.
Earlier, the OIC Secretary General, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, had said, "The insistence of the Occupying regime on crimes, is tantamount to violation of all redlines, traditions and international rules and regulations."
Taha, stating that the Israeli terrorist act in Tehran was assault to Iran's sovereignty and national security and glaring breach of international rules and rights and the text of the UN Charter. He asked the Un Security Council to fulfill its duty and take necessary measures to force the Occupying regime to respect international rules and stop its aggression and abide by immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
The urgent session of the OIC foreign ministers' executive committee was held on Wednesday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with the agenda of examining the continuation of Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people and the dimensions of the regime's aggression in assassination of Ismail Haniyeh and violation of the sovereignty and national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
