Iran's conditions for reconstruction of ties with European countries
Pars Today- The new Iranian foreign minister said in his first foreign interview that the Islamic Republic of Iran is after management of tensions with Washington and reconstruction of ties with European countries based on a series of conditions.
Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in his first exclusive interview after garnering vote of confidence from the parliament, made it clear, "The Iranian foreign ministry, as a determining step to remove economic sanctions and return to normal commercial ties with the international community, is after management of tensions with Washington and reconstruction of relations with the European countries, but only provided that, they abandon their hostile approach and make effort for revival of the 2015 nuclear agreement and removal of [all] sanctions."
According to Pars Today, Araqchi, in an interview with the Japanese news agency Kyodo, added that he had stressed the sensitive objective of removal of sanctions, especially the unilateral ones, through earnest, concentrated and time-bound negotiation while observing the fundamental principles of the Iranian nation.
The Iranian foreign minister, referring to Iran's good relations with Japan, said, "The Iranian foreign ministry, based on the comprehensive roadmap built through my deep knowledge of Japan, the Tehran-Tokyo ties will be boosted in every dimension and it will cooperate with Tokyo to jointly address the regional crisis."
Araqchi, stressing that Japan can enjoy higher position in Iran's energy, oil and economy sectors, continued, "Iran will welcome the Japanese companies interested in the oil and energy sectors."
The Iranian new foreign minister also said, "I believe that Iran and Japan, with their distinctive and integrating abilities, enjoy very high potentials to create a useful and sustainable participation across Asia."
As for the Japanese initiatives pertaining to Tehran-Washington ties in 2019, he stated, "Iran and Japan have created a bond which is characterized by friendship, mutual understanding, respect and trust."
Araqchi then said on his priorities with an emphasis on Japan's outstanding status, "The new Iranian government considers expansion of ties with East Asia as a pivotal objective."
