Palestinian resistance groups have vowed to take revenge for near-daily military raids and escalating violence across the occupied territories after Israeli soldiers martyred two Palestinians near the West Bank city of Nablus.

“The surge in the occupiers’ crimes and direct attacks against our people and sanctities will fan the flames of a new Intifada (popular uprising). The Zionist enemy well knows that our resistance fighters are strong-minded to take revenge on the occupying regime,” the Islamic Jihad movement said in a statement.

It went on to commiserate with the bereaved families of Mohammed Abu Dhraa and Soud al-Titi, who were fatally shot by Israeli troops close to Deir al-Hatab village – located 5.7 kilometers (3.5 miles) east of Nablus – on Thursday, emphasizing that its members will continue to tread the path of the martyrs.

“We urge all walks of the Palestinian society as well as resistance fighters to keep on struggle and steadfastness until final victory over the Israeli occupation,” Islamic Jihad noted.

Separately, Hamas mourned the death of the veteran Palestinian prisoners.

It stated that Titi, who was a member of the Palestinian Authority security forces, spent 17 years in Israeli detention centers while Abu Dhraa was held behind bars in an Israeli prison for seven years.

It stressed that Palestinians will continue resisting the Israeli occupation until they regain their rights and occupied lands.

Local Palestinian sources said Abu Dhraa and Titi were living in the nearby Balata refugee camp in Nablus, and their bodies were taken by the Israeli military.
