  • Show of power in the Red Sea; how the Yemenis forced USS Eisenhower to flee?

Pars Today - The US is still grappling with the consequences of the al-Aqsa storm operation; the same operation that brought the famous aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower to the Red Sea, but now it's being forced to leave the region.

Just a few hours after the news of the Yemeni attack on the US naval giant, the USS Eisenhower, a Pentagon official who wished to remain anonymous tried to deny the attack. However, according to Pars Today, the Yemenis revealed the details of the news, and Pentagon experts were forced to come up with another excuse, saying that the decision to end the mission of this warship in the Red Sea was made by US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

Prior to this, American media and think tanks had announced that despite Western military support for the Zionist regime, the situation remains fragile, and the famous US aircraft carrier should remain in the region. However, after the new Yemeni attack, Austin announced that it was necessary for the Eisenhower to withdraw, and the USS Theodore Roosevelt might be sent to the region instead.

Why is Eisenhower's departure important?

The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower is one of the 10 largest Nimitz-class aircraft carriers, recognized as the most powerful symbol of the US Navy's strength.

This nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, officially launched on October 18, 1977, has always been considered one of the most important sources of US naval power. The massive ship, 333 meters long and 114,000 tons in weight, is equipped with the most advanced radar systems, and navigation aids, and has a total crew of 5,680 personnel.

The Eisenhower is not only capable of detecting submarine attacks but also possesses the naval and ground versions of the Sparrow air-to-air missile, and over 100 fighter jets and helicopters can take off from its deck.

After the historic Hamas operation on October 7, 2023, which inflicted an unprecedented defeat on the Zionist regime, Eisenhower arrived in the region to supposedly ensure the security of energy transit.

However, its main goal was to provide air support to the Zionist regime and act as a floating airbase, from which fighter jets could take off at any moment to complete their missions.

In the current situation, the USS Eisenhower is leaving the Red Sea, which the US did not expect, given the continuation of Yemeni attacks, would put them in a strategic predicament.

One of the main reasons why Eisenhower's withdrawal has become a turning point in defense is that Hezbollah in Lebanon has targeted the Zionist regime in a way that has raised the concerns of Netanyahu's cabinet to an all-time high.

However, in these difficult circumstances, Eisenhower could not ensure the security of Netanyahu's army, and it's leaving the region so that if Hezbollah in Lebanon also launches a missile attack on the ship, like the Yemeni fighters, the situation for Joe Biden won't become even more complicated and difficult.

Why is the Red Sea important to the US?

The Red Sea is a vital hub for global trade, connecting the Mediterranean Sea to the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea. The Suez Canal, which connects the Red Sea to the Mediterranean, is particularly crucial for the transportation of oil, goods, and military assets.

Another reason why the Red Sea is important to the US is its strategic geopolitical location. The US cannot afford to ignore the region, as it needs to ensure the security of Saudi Arabia, the Zionist regime, and Egypt, as well as control the movements of Yemeni fighters.

The US Central Command has always claimed that without the presence of the USS Eisenhower, securing the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Bab al-Mandab Strait would be impossible. However, the current situation has changed, and it is clear that the US is even unable to secure its own bases in the region.

In the current situation, 8 months after the historic blow dealt by the Palestinian resistance to the Zionist regime, the insistence on continuing the war policy in Gaza has not yielded any results for Netanyahu's cabinet.

The US, as the main supporter of this regime, is practically stuck in a strategic deadlock and cannot easily pressure Netanyahu due to the influence of the Jewish lobby on political and electoral equations.

The Zionist regime, with the support of Western countries, has launched a new wave of massacres against the defenseless and oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank since October 7, 2023.

In response, the Palestinian resistance in Gaza and other resistance groups in Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, and Syria have announced that they will take revenge for these crimes against the occupying regime.

According to the latest reports, since the start of the new round of Zionist regime attacks on Gaza on October 7, 2023, more than 37,000 Palestinians have been martyred and over 85,000 injured.

Key phrases: Yemen and the US, Israel and the US, Red Sea, USS Eisenhower, Israel's crimes in Gaza.
