Ambiguity and postponement; Western politicians buying time for Israeli carnage machine
Pars Today- Many analysts believe that failing to make accountable the Western leaders, such as Tony Blair who enjoyed similar responsibilities during the Iraq war, will only escalate violence.
While examining the role of Britain in the Gaza war, a new claim has been raised by one of the ex-advisors of the British foreign office. According to Pars Today, this advisor has announced that the former British Prime Minister, David Cameron, had received warnings while at office, based on violation of international human laws (IHL) by Israel. However, Cameron had taken no measure in this regard.
This source has made it clear that the British foreign office has warned that if the arms exports were not stopped to Israel, Britain might be considered as a partner in the war crimes [of the Zionist regime]. In January, while asking about this legal consultation, Cameron stated that he did not remember what documents had been given to him. He also expressed doubt over recognizing Israel as an occupying force. These ambiguous answers and non-acceptance of responsibility have strengthened the requests for investigation on what Cameron has or has not done.
The main question is:
"How many people could have survived, had Britain taken a timely move to stop authorization of arms exports?"
The British foreign office advisor has mentioned that stopping arms exports was done late in September after months of warning and presentation of documents. This official added that such measures could have great impact on the reaction of other countries to arms dealing with Israel.

Moreover, a report issued by the British foreign office reads that despite existence of valid documents on "misbehavior with prisoners" and prevention of free crossing of humanitarian aid by Israel, it has failed to present a definite judgment on charges of modus operandi of Israeli war. This is while, many people and experts are witness to the daily pictures and videos of human tragedies in Gaza and such remarks are not acceptable.
In view of this, Matt Miller and Vedant Patel, spokesmen of the US state department, have several times given unclear answers to journalists on the crimes in Gaza. From murdering Hind Rajab to massacre in bakeries, finding of mass graves near hospitals and shooting those carrying white flags, are all the events which have received the repeated sentence: "Israel is investigating." Such an answer is an effort to defer necessary international measures and mislead public opinion. On the other hand, the culture of impunity against punishment in Israel has strengthened the climate for vitriolic and threatening remarks against Palestinians.
During the recent months, the statements of the Israeli leaders on taking pleasure from the pains of Palestinians have drawn the attention of the media and the human rights circles.
For example, in an Israeli podcast titled, "Two Nice Jewish Boys", Naor Meningher and Eytan Weinstein have expressed remarks which instigated broad anger. They said, "One cannot help but to feel that while you are dancing at the concert, hundreds of thousands are homeless in Gaza… this makes the concert even more delightful."
These remarks with other words on the assumption of total destruction of Gaza indicates increasing concerns over war crimes and threats of genocide. Although they claimed later that they had not meant genocide, opinion polls and remarks of other Israeli officials reveal that this has prevailed in the Israeli community.
This has gone to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), too. In the petitions raised by South Africa against Israel threatening remarks of Israeli officials have been presented as main documents. For instance, in one of the public opinion polls in Israel, many of the victims of October 7 attacks called for total annihilation of Palestinians.
Furthermore, the content of the tweets of these two Jewish boys were sentences like: "Why are some of the buildings in Gaza not destroyed?" and "Gaza should be erased from the earth. No Hamas, no Gaza."
Considering these events, many analysts believe that failing to make accountable the Western leaders, such as Tony Blair who enjoyed similar responsibilities during the Iraq war, will only escalate violence. Blair, after publishing a report on the Grenfell incident showing that the incident was preventable, said that no system can prevent human mistakes.
But, many people consider these remarks as an effort to justify lack of accountability and indifference towards war crimes and human tragedies.
