Behind Israeli attacks on Syria; Corridor of David scheme to dominate energy resources in West Asia
Pars Today- The "Corridor of David" plot is the newest geopolitical scenario which the Zionist regime is pursuing in West Asia with the support of the United States. This plan is not a merely geographical route, but an ambitious scheme for changing borders, controlling water and oil resources and disintegrating Syria and Iraq.
According to Pars Today, quoting from Fars news agency, while West Asia is facing a new wave of geopolitical developments, including the Israeli attacks on Syria, ample evidence indicates that a plan, called "Corridor of David" is being put into effect by the fake Zionist regime in full coordination with the US. This plan is part of a very wide program to redraw the regional borders, dominate energy and water resources and weaken [if not destroy] resistance axis.
The separatist Druze leader of Syria has called for building a corridor to link al-Suwayda with the Syrian democratic forces led by Mazlum Abdi in northeast of the country.
The Corridor of David is a project for connecting the central regions, which are not adversary to Israel, and give it access to its two main enemies, namely Iran and Turkey.
After the fall of Bashar al-Assad in Syria, Israel has captured two regions of al-Quneitra and al-Suwayda. This corridor passes through al-Suwayda and reaches al-Jazeera region of Deir ez-Zor.
It can reach Ain al-Arab on the Turkish border via Hasakah, or pass into the Iraqi Kurdistan. Thus, the route will give access to the Iranian border via Erbil-Sulaymaniyah.
According to the reports and analyses, the Corridor of David begins from the south of Syria and, passing through al-Suwayda and al-Quneitra governorates, reaches the American-affiliated Kurdish-controlled areas in northeast of Syria. Then it reaches the Iraqi Kurdistan and the Turkish and Iranian borders.
This corridor not only can provide Israel with direct access to the Euphrates and the rich water and energy resources in the region, but also will ease the strategic bond with separatist Kurdish and Druze groups.
Analysts maintain that implementation of this plan not only has a geostrategic aspect, but it conveys an ideological message. Some Hebrew language sources have claimed that, according to Talmud, this route materializes a historical promise, i.e. connecting the Israeli (Occupied Palestinian) borders to the River Euphrates.
Moreover, the US, keeping its forces in Tanf region and fully supporting the Syrian democratic forces in the north, completes this jigsaw puzzle. This military presence in the triangular border of Iraq, Syria and Jordan, is indeed considered as the vital connecting point of this corridor.
Arab journalists, such as Mohamed Kharub of the Jordanian daily Al-Rai, had already exposed that this plan has aimed at disintegration of Syria into three parts: Druze government in the south, Kurdish government in the north and a weak central government in Damascus.
According to Kharub, Washington and Tel Aviv are hell-bent on drawing up a new political and economic route out of these changes.
Turkey, too, is worriedly watching Israeli moves near its borders, as this scenario will practically imperil Ankara's influence in the north of Syria and Tel Aviv's support for Kurds is considered as a direct threat to the Turkish territorial integrity.
In sum, the Corridor of David is not a merely geographical plan, but part of a greater project to redesign power and sovereignty in the region. The United States and the fabricated Zionist regime are daydreaming of a new West Asia (Middle East as they like to call the region). But, the awakening of the regional nations will turn this dream into a nightmare for them.
