Pars Today – Turkey’s Foreign Minister stated: "If Syria moves toward partition and instability, we will intervene."
Tensions in southern Syria escalated on July 13 after clashes between armed tribes and Druze militants in Suwayda Province. The Israeli regime, claiming to support the Druze, launched attacks on Syrian military vehicles heading toward Suwayda. On July 16, the Zionist regime bombed several strategic sites in Damascus, including the Syrian Army General Command headquarters, calling it a direct message to Damascus.
Following these attacks, Syria’s Defense Ministry announced the withdrawal of all its forces from Suwayda under a ceasefire agreement. Political analysts view Israel’s aggression as part of Tel Aviv’s efforts to partition Syria.
According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, in this context, Hakan Fidan, Turkey’s Foreign Minister, said on Tuesday: "If Syria moves toward partition and instability, we will intervene." During a joint press conference with Alexandra Hill, his Salvadoran counterpart in Ankara, Fidan warned that if factions in Syria push for division and chaos, Turkey will consider it a direct threat to its national security and act accordingly.
Turkey's Foreign Minister stated that Israel is pursuing a policy aimed at weakening the region and maintaining chaos within it, emphasizing that the Zionist regime does not want any stable country in its vicinity and therefore intends to partition Syria.
Protests in Occupied Golan: "Jolani must resign"
Meanwhile, the occupied Syrian Golan Heights saw mass protests on Monday condemning recent anti-Druze attacks in Suwayda. Demonstrators in the villages of Majdal Shams, Mas’ada, and Ein Qiniyye denounced armed assaults on Syrian towns, demanding an immediate halt to the violence and the resignation of Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, head of Syria’s interim government.
Israeli drone strike on Syrian tribes' convoy
Reports confirmed an Israeli drone attack on a convoy of Bedouin fighters in Suwayda, southern Syria, resulting in several casualties. No further details were provided.
SDF: "After Suwayda events, we will never hand over weapons to Damascus"
Tensions between the Jolani administration and the Druze in Syria persist as Abjer Daoud, spokesperson for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), stated that handing over their weapons to Syria's interim government is currently impossible following the events in Suwayda province and amid such violence.
He said: "The SDF surrendering weapons is impossible while tensions continue in Syria, violence escalates, and the Daesh threat remains active."
The spokesperson for the Syrian Democratic Forces added: "We could join the Syrian Army through a 'constitutional agreement' that recognizes the 'special characteristics of the Kurds.'"
Baku confirmed as host for Syria-Israeli regime talks
Hikmet Hajiyev, aide to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, confirmed to the Zionist outlet Jewish News Syndicate (JNS) that Syrian and Israeli officials held direct talks in Baku. While details remain undisclosed, speculation suggests UAE and U.S. indirect involvement.
Massacre of 1,426 Alawites in Syria’s coastal events in March
Another report from Syria states that the fact-finding committee investigating the March massacre on Syria's coast has confirmed the killing of 1,426 Alawites by forces affiliated with the Julani regime. However, the committee claimed that the killings were not organized or ideologically motivated.
According to reports, the committee—affiliated with the ruling government in Syria—based its conclusions on speculation rather than definitive evidence typically presented in courts, and it did not disclose the names of the suspects.
Yasser al-Farhan, a member of the fact-finding committee, said at a press conference in Damascus on Tuesday that the investigation findings were prepared in a timely manner, but recent events in Sweida were the reason for the delay in their announcement.
