Thousands of mourners took to the streets of many Nigerian cities and villages to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (PBUH), grandson and the 3rd infallible successor of Prophet Mohammad (Blessings of God upon him and his progeny), and his 72 loyal companions, who were martyred in Karbala, Iraq in 680 AD.
