  • Ex-American officer: Sinwar martyrdom bolsters Hamas' resolve, valor

Pars Today- A former intelligence officer of the American army, in an interview with al-Ghad TV channel, explained some of the reasons while Hamas has not weakened after Yahya Sinwar's martyrdom.

Scott Ritter, former American intelligence officer, in response to the question of al-Ghad TV channel anchor on the martyrdom of Chairman of Hamas Political Bureau, Yahya al-Sinwar, said, "Sinwar's martyrdom while he was in close combat with the Occupying Israeli military, turned him into a hero." According to Pars Today, he added, "Sinwar didn't escape from the Occupying army in the battlefield and lost his life bravely in the field; thus, the name of Sinwar will be imprinted in history as a martyr."

Speaking on the state of Hamas power after Sinwar's martyrdom despite media hype, Ritter added, "With martyrdom of Sinwar neither the Palestinian cause nor the power of Hamas will be undermined. It will rather intensify Hamas' resolve and valor to continue the battle and self-defense."

Scott Ritter, who was the UN representative and inspector of Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq during 1991-1998, made it clear, "Sinwar's martyrdom will be a turning point in changing the game rules, and now, the Israeli regime will be further weakened, and Hamas will continue its holy battle."

Touching upon the likely Israeli aggression against Iran, he added, "This decision depends on the officials of the regime and it has its roots in the vested interests of Netanyahu."
