  • Pew survey: American social media generation sympathizes with Palestinians/ Media giants' generation sympathizes with Israel

Pars Today - According to a survey published in April, the new generation of Americans, unlike their older generations, has a more positive view of Palestinians than Israelis.

The latest Pew survey shows that young Americans have more sympathy for the Palestinian people than for Israelis. According to this report, one-third of American adults under 30 say they have complete or more sympathy for the Palestinian people, while 14% have sympathy for Israelis.

Additionally, the survey shows that young Americans have a more favorable view of Palestinians than of Israelis. Based on this survey, six out of ten American adults under 30 have a positive view of Palestinians, while 46% have a positive view of Israelis.

Accordingly, views towards Israelis have worsened among young Americans in recent years. The share of adults under 30 with a favorable view of Israelis has decreased by 17% since 2019, while views towards Palestinians have remained unchanged during this period.

Based on this survey, older American generations have a greater inclination towards Israel.

According to existing analyses, one of the reasons for this is the difference in information sources between these generations. Older generations relied on television, news networks, and newspapers produced by American power circles, whereas the new generation receives information directly and without intermediaries from social media, which naturally has more freedom and is less controlled by news editors.

This survey was conducted last month, coinciding with Israel's massive attack on Palestinians in Gaza.

The Israeli regime, with the all-out support of several Western countries, has launched a new large-scale massacre against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank since October 7, 2023.

According to the latest reports, over 34,000 Palestinians have been martyred, more than 77,000 injured, and over 10,000 missing in the Zionist regime's attacks on Gaza.

The Israeli regime was established in 1917 with the design of British colonialism and through the migration of Jews from various countries, mainly European, to Palestinian territory, and its existence was declared in 1948. Since then, various plans for mass killings and genocide of Palestinians and the occupation of their entire territory have been carried out.

Some countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, believe that the solution to this issue is the dissolution of this regime and the return of Jews to their original countries. Iran believes that the Palestinian people should be the decision-makers in this regard and should announce through a referendum whether they accept these Jewish immigrants or not.
