The blessed month of Ramadhan is the month of prayer and supplication. Prophet Mohammad (Blessings of God upon him and his progeny) has recommended us to demand great things from God whenever we raise our hands for prayer because nothing is great and hard for God.

There are several customs among Iranians during Nowruz. One of them is giving Eidi to the younger ones by the elderly. Eidi is usually some new notes which are given by a grandfather or grandmother to their children and grandchildren.

The blessed month of Ramadhan is the month of taking the lead in obedience of God and competition in doing righteous deeds.

Imam Ali (PBUH), the first Shias’ Imam says on the status of the blessed month of Ramadhan, “The superiority of this month to other months is like the superiority of the Ahl al-Bayt (Household) of the Prophet to other people. Its days are the best of days, its nights are the best of nights and its hours are the best of hours.”
