Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, glittering gem of Islamic Revolution

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) was founded on April 22, 1979, upon the instruction of the Founder of Islamic Republic of Iran, late Imam Khomeini (God's mercy upon him).

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, more than forty years after its establishment, has turned into one of the influential organizations, in protection of the accomplishments of the Islamic Revolution.

Father of Islamic Revolution, late Imam Khomeini (God's mercy upon him) noted that the holy organization of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps truly has been and will be one of the main bastions for defending the divine values of the sacred Islamic system.

Within the first chapter of the charter of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, it has been noted: "Islamic Revolution Guards Corps is an organization under the command of the Leader of Islamic Revolution, which aims to safeguard Iran's Islamic Revolution and its accomplishments; to continuously endeavor to materialize divine ideals; to expand the rule of divine law based on the rules and regulations of Islamic Republic of Iran; to reinforce the defense capacity of Islamic Republic of Iran via cooperation with other Iranian Armed Forces; and to military train and organize popular forces."

Within the second chapter of the charter of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, it is noted: The mission of this popular organization is to legally campaign and act against agents and currents who are intent on carrying out subversive operations against Islamic Iran, aim to somehow topple the sacred Islamic establishment, and/or act against Iran's Islamic Revolution.

The 7^th Article of the second chapter of the charter of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps notes: "If deemed necessary, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps cooperates with the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army for safeguarding the independence and territorial integrity of the country and the sacred Islamic establishment."

Participation in relief operations in case of occurrence of natural disasters and accidents, and presentation of relief, educational, production, and Construction Jihad services upon the request of the government is one of the other missions of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps at the time of peace. The effective presence of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps and Basij Mobilization Force in different flood-hit regions, and assistance of people in need took place within this framework.

The continued presence of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps and its cooperation with other Iranian Armed Forces, has doubled the power of the sacred Islamic system. Review of the 40-year history of the Islamic Revolution shows that the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has played an influential role in all of the sensitive phases of the Islamic Revolution.

Dealing with the infiltrators for protection of the community's security; active and effective presence in warfronts throughout the Sacred Defense era alongside Iran Army's forces; participation in reconstruction of war-torn regions; and effective regional presence for countering the plots of enemies of Islamic Revolution, have turned the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps into a powerful and influential force in domestic and regional developments.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps which has foiled the schemes of the foes in different political, military, security, and economic realms, with the assistance of other Iranian Armed Forces, has been targeted by the hostility of the enemies of the Iranian nation and Islamic Revolution. The effectiveness of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps in regional developments, prompted the enmity of Trump administration toward this popular and revolutionary Iranian organization to an extent that the most effective organization in the campaign against US- and Zionist regime-backed terrorism, was baselessly and blatantly placed in the so-called terrorist list of the US.

This brazen US act against Islamic Revolution Guards Corps shows the importance and effectiveness of this revolutionary force in the strategic region of West Asia, which has defeated the US policies. The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, in its campaign against Daesh terrorist outfit in Syria, foiled the plots of the US and its cohorts, infuriating the US administration.

The effective presence of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps in Syria and Iraq upon the request of these two Arab governments, led to the crushing defeat of Daesh terrorist outfit and its supporters.

The recent unfounded US measure in placing the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps in a so-called terrorist list manifests the inability of the US toward Iran; and is not approved by the international community, while independent countries across the world have strongly condemned this US illegal measure against Islamic Revolution Guards Corps.

The US administration's misuse of the topic of "terrorism" is evident to all.

Iran's Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, notes: "If the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps would have not assisted the courageous people of Iraq and Syria in their steadfastness against Daesh terrorist outfit; Daesh terrorists would have occupied two Arab capitals and would have sent a terrorist force to European gateways."
