Day of insight and allegiance with Wilayah

9th of the Iranian month of Dey was an epic day in the history of the Islamic Republic of Iran. We have prepared a special feature on this occasion as follows:

Obviously, no one can determine the time of his birth and death. But a community can be effective on its birth and death. The death of a community originates in its lack of insight and awareness. Awareness and insight form the spirit and source of life in every community. If a community likes to be immune from gradual death it should foster and strengthen insight. Insight is the precious jewel which exterminates darkness and ignorance, enhances the ability of analysis and makes it possible to predict the future events. The first infallible successor of the Prophet of Islam and the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (AS) elaborates on the importance of insight, “Lacking the eye in the face is easier than lacking the eye of heart.”

Insight means learnedness, sharp-sightedness of heart, smartness and certitude. An insightful community will not fail to discern the right path during storms of incidents and labyrinths of seditions. One of the names that God introduces Himself with is All-Seeing. He had also called the Prophet and the Qur’an the source of insight which leads to awareness and cognizance. This cognizance will result in wisdom and accurate understanding. The holy Qur’an reminds that some people have eyes but they don’t have insight (inner eye).

One of the most important messages of Qur’an is to have insight in order to learn lessons and be admonished. This will help distinguish waywardness from the guidance and go toward eternal salvation. Prophet Mohammad (SAWA) had the divine mission to create insight and used to say, “I move with insight.” His followers and companions, too, would move in this way. The mystery behind permanence of durability of the School of Ahl al-Bayt in the face of a myriad of conspiracies hatched by enemies and ill-wishers in the course of history has been the fact that the infallible successors of the Prophet and the ulema as their representatives have thoroughly moved and acted with insight and discernment. Hence, having insight of the goal, the tool and the route toward that goal; and the enemy is quintessential in safeguarding and immunizing the Islamic community in the path of progress and prosperity. Most people in such a community are able to discern truth from falsehood in any garment and the dust of seditions cannot lead them astray.

The epic of 9^th of Dey 1388 (December 30 2009) was marked with the nationwide massive demonstration of the Iranian people against the sworn enemies of the country and their internal myrmidons and hired elements. It turned into a red-ink day in the book of the Iranian nation’s honours. 9^th of Dey symbolizes the dignity, independence, insight, the principles of Islam and the ideals of the Islamic Revolution stemming from Islam and above all the love of the Iranian people for Wilayat Faqih (rule of the supreme jurisprudent). The Iranian vigilant and insightful people proved that they are the real followers of the Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini (God’s mercy upon him) when he said, “If the enemies want to stand against our religion we will stand against their entire world.”

9^th of Dey was the culmination of the covert and overt enmity from abroad and inside the country against the Islamic Revolution, Islamic system and the Iranian nation. This enmity had aimed at instigation of chaos and crisis and sacrilege against religious beliefs especially the lofty and sacred status of leadership. This was very manifestly shown by tearing the pictures of Imam Khomeini and mocking and desecrating Ashura by a handful of deceived hirelings of the west. The climax of these tensions in the day of Ashura (10^th of the month of Moharram), commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein in the year 61 in Karbala, caused the entire nation to pour on streets and was indeed the last nail in the coffin of the west-paid and backed instigators of crisis and seditionists. The epic demonstrations of the Iranian people in different cities and towns, especially Tehran, were a crushing blow to the camp of the Global Arrogance, symbolized by the Great Satan the US, the fabricated Zionist regime of Israel and their western allies and Arab lackeys in the region. The Front of Global Arrogance and its internal paid elements would never imagine that, with the wave of crises against the ruling system, imposition of illegal sanctions, and obfuscation of the socio-political climate, the Iranian nation could discern right from wrong and truth from falsehood. The vigilance of the Iranian nation in this splendid epic was manifested in such a way that as the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei said, “If one prostrates hundreds of times to thank for the blessing of vigilance of this nation it will be still little; the epic that destroyed the calculations of the enemy, the calculations that had been formed with the collaboration and planning of an internal minority with spite and animosity. But on this epic day once more the Islamic Ummah acted with insight and the enemies of the system were disappointed.”

Without an iota of doubt, had it not been for the insight and discernment of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution coupled with the consonance and vigilance of the Iranian people, the fire of sedition and division wouldn’t be put out so soon. The exemplary management and prudence of the Leader caused the multi-million strong presence of the people in defence of the ideals of the Revolution and renewal of their covenant with Wali-e Faqih (the pious jurisprudent as the ruler of the system)

Ayatollah Khamenei says on this epic, “The days of the year are the same by nature and per se. It is the humans, the will powers and struggles which characterize one day and make it conspicuous and distinctive, and hoist it as a flag to guide others. The day of Ashura- 10^th of Moharram- is not different per se from other days. It is Hussein ibn Ali who breathes life onto this day, makes it significant, and lifts it up to the Divine Throne. It is the struggles of the companions of Hussein ibn Ali that give significance and importance to this day. The 9^th of Dey is also like this. This year’s 9^th of Dey is like this. The 9^th of Dey is not different from the 10^th of Dey. It is the people who suddenly with a move- stemming from the very factors that shaped the 19^th of Dey in Qom, i.e. insight, recognition of enemy, recognition of time, presence at the arena of struggle- distinguish the 9^th of Dey.”

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stated, “Be sure that the 9^th of Dey became lasting in history. This day became a distinctive day, too. Perhaps, in a sense, it can be said that in the current conditions- where the climate is obfuscated, this popular move had an additional importance. It was a great job. To whatever extent one thinks on these events, they can see the hand of Almighty God, the hand of Power, the spirit of Wilayah, the spirit of Hussein ibn Ali (AS) in them. These affairs are not the affairs that can be done by the will of the like of us. This is the affair of God. This is the hand of the Divine Power. As the late Imam said to me in a sensitive situation, which I have related it several times, ‘During all this time, I have seen the hand of the Divine Power behind these events.’ That insightful and sharp-sighted man saw accurately.”

If anybody wants to lead a principled life and pursue those principles, they have to have a certain course and to have a certain course requires shunning the affairs that comply with their carnal desires and mean inclinations and are contrary to their principles and goals. He who rides the mount of carnal desires and devilish tendencies, he has indeed ceded his control to it and his wisdom and insight obey those desires. Insight means that he/she observes the events well and evaluates them with scrutiny.
