This series of programmes -- welcoming Nowruz (the Iranian new year) -- has two major aims. In the introductory programs we shall delve into the history and origins of this ancient festivity, and in our later programmes we shall examine the rituals, traditions and festivities associated with Nowruz. We hereby congratulate all those who celebrate Nowruz. On the Iranian calendar, the New Year is 1399 and we wish you a very happy, and wonderful Nowruz.
