Martyr Badreddin: For what sin was he killed?

The recent martyrdom near Damascus of Mustafa Badreddin, senor commander of the Lebanon's legendry anti-terrorist movement, Hezbollah, at the hands of the Takfiri terrorists, once again revealed the cowardly nature of the chief instigators of the bloody sedition and war in Syria, that is, the US, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the illegal Zionist entity.

On May 13 a huge funeral procession took place in southern Beirut, Lebanon, where the 55-year old martyred commander was laid to rest beside, another famous martyred commander, Emad Mughniyah.

In a statement, Hezbollah said Badreddin was martyred in a strike at one of its bases near Damascus Airport in Syria. He was the commander of Hezbollah's military wing which is helping the Syrian government drive out foreign-backed terrorist groups from the country. He also directed military operations against the Israeli invasion of Lebanon and was a frequent target of attempts by Israel and the United States to assassinate or capture him.

Subsequently, one doesn’t have to look far to see why in the Western capitals the officials didn’t lift a finger over his death. Buried in propaganda and lies, they are refusing to condemn the attack, let alone demand that the perpetrators be brought to justice.

 Let’s exercise some rudimentary logic over this raw exercise of the power of propaganda and intimidation:

Suppose it was Hezbollah which killed an Israeli military commander in the Jordanian or Egyptian capital. Having lost their liberty to disinformation, fear, and double standards, the official reaction from the West would have been overwhelming. They would quickly call for a UN Security Council meeting in order to impose sanctions on Lebanon and Hezbollah. They would then form a “coalition” to bomb Hezbollah positions in Lebanon and Syria under a UN mandate. Other “counter-terror” measures would definitely include a court ruling that allows the use of seized assets from Iran’s Central Bank to compensate Israeli victims of terrorist attacks and so on.

Lest they forget, it was the Syrian Army and its committed allies, including Hezbollah, who drove the Daesh murderers out of many key areas in Syria. It was also Hezbollah and Iran that long before Russia decided to join their counter-terror alliance, helped the Syrian army prevent the extremist outfits from gaining ground – the same lost souls that carried out the coordinated March 22 atrocities in Brussels as well as the last November terror attacks in Paris.

Obviously for the Western regimes this was not enough to condemn Badreddin's killing. They don’t see this despicable act as violation of the territorial integrity of a UN member state either. Quite the opposite, their reactions as always have been gloating and self-righteous, certainly hypocritical.

To grasp the hypocrisy here is to reveal a deeply rooted double standard in the way the largely Zionist controlled media and politicians in the West continue to narrate the ongoing war on Syria. They scare the public out of its wits, refer to Badreddin as a “terror chief”, and cite anonymous “reports” that he was “associated with previous terror attacks in Lebanon."

What’s missing in all this knelling is mainly this: Not one media report or official comment in the West acknowledges that Badreddin’s killing was, in itself, an act of terrorism and hence condemnable under International Law, nor that his killing will change the balance of power in favor of those fighting various terrorist outfits in Syria, which is indeed the Hezbollah commander's only sin!

Long story short, the United States and its counterparts in NATO claim they are fighting terror in Syria. Therefore, the dolts should have sought out Commander Badreddin as a partner in the Real War on Terror. Instead, they overtly or covertly celebrate his assassination and are so far disinclined to condemn the terrorist groups. The real problem here is the taboo on describing their "moderates" and their blatant acts of terror and routine violations, in the same terms they regularly apply to other states that behave in similar fashion.

Such grotesque ironies are not surprising though. The Resistance Front is generally accustomed to the double standards by which the terrorist groups and regimes such as Israel get to play every game by a unique set of Western rules and doublespeak. Little wonder that Hezbollah says it will continue the path of Commander Badreddin. His death will certainly stiffen the resistance movement’s lawful determination to fight the Israeli Apartheid and terrorism in Syria whatever the sacrifices would be.

Hezbollah and its allies are the only ones in this world who are fighting occupations, terrorists and imperialist war hawks. It is worth recalling that in August 2010, Hezbollah revealed evidence proving Israeli involvement in the murder of former Lebanese prime minister, Rafiq al-Hariri. Hezbollah was hacking into Israeli drones, and caught them tracking down Hariri. Also, Lebanese security forces have captured hundreds of Israeli agents, many of them confessing for murder on several politicians. One of them also confessed that he was on the murder scene the day before the murder of Rafiq al-Hariri and walked around to measure distances. This is pretty much a closed case, however, this case has been politicized by those who are anti-Assad and anti-Hezbollah. Like everything else is. For instance: half of the entire world is financing a global terrorist force who call themselves FSA or the Free Syrian Army, an-Nusra, Daesh and whatever, but when Hezbollah fight these terrorists, all hell breaks loose. The EU even blacklisted Hezbollah in 2013 for liberating al-Qusayr, while at the same time continuing to fund an-Nusra who during that same summer gassed many hundreds of civilians in chemical attacks.
