Pars Today - The European Union emphasized that the famine in Gaza has become an undeniable reality.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is intensifying daily. In this regard, international organizations and institutions have warned that famine is claiming lives in Gaza and have called for immediate humanitarian access and a ceasefire. According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, EU Commissioner "Hajj Lahbib" announced on Friday that the famine in Gaza has become an undeniable reality, and people in the region are dying of hunger.

In a message on the social network X, "Lahbib" wrote: "Famine is a reality in Gaza; this has now been confirmed by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) report. People are dying of hunger."

According to the report by this international institution, famine has now been confirmed in Gaza and will spread to Deir al-Balah and Khan Yunis in the coming weeks. The institution warned that by the end of September, nearly one-third of Gaza's population, equivalent to approximately 641,000 people, will be at risk of famine.

Highlighting the scale of the disaster, Lahbib emphasized: "This is a race against time. I call on Israel to allow unhindered and sustained access to humanitarian aid for all those in need."

Resignation of the Dutch Foreign Minister in Protest Against Weak Stance on Israel

In other news from Europe, Dutch Foreign Minister "Kaspar Veldkamp" resigned on Friday due to the cabinet's opposition to imposing sanctions against the Zionist regime. "Veldkamp" stated that the Dutch government had previously taken important steps, but he felt obligated to take further action regarding the situation in Gaza and the West Bank. The decision by the Dutch Foreign Minister to step down came after the Dutch cabinet failed to reach an agreement on imposing sanctions against the Zionist regime for its actions in the West Bank and Gaza.

Belgian Universities' Outcry Against Israel

Meanwhile, the heads of Belgian universities have once again called for Israel's suspension from the European Union's Horizon Europe research and innovation program. The university heads believe that Israel, in its war and aggression in Gaza, has not adhered to its cooperation agreement with the European Union—an agreement that emphasizes respect for human rights by both parties. The University of Ljubljana has also called on the EU to suspend Israel from the program, citing reports of genocidal actions against the people of Gaza. The university announced that it will not cooperate with Israeli entities in Horizon Europe projects. The European Union is currently considering the possibility of imposing scientific sanctions against Israel due to the war and siege of Gaza. The EU-Israel cooperation agreement is the basis for Israel's membership in Horizon Europe, through which it has so far received 856 million euros.

Suspension of Zionists from FIFA; Italy's Demand

The major wave of suspension for Israeli football began with the campaign by Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, who protested against UEFA for censoring the location, reason, and manner of the killing of Palestinian football legend Suleiman al-Abid by the Zionist regime. This anti-Zionist wave has reached Italy. Italian coaches sent a letter to the country's football federation demanding Israel's suspension from UEFA and FIFA. The Italian news agency ANSA reported that the Italian Coaches Association (Assoallenatori) wrote a letter to Gabriele Gravina, president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), urging UEFA and FIFA to temporarily suspend Israel from international football.
