Pars Today – The French daily Liberation has published a report examining deep shifts in the political views of France’s younger generation regarding developments in Palestine.

Earlier, news sources reported that tens of thousands of people marched in Paris in support of Palestinians, chanting slogans such as “From Paris to Palestine, resistance.” According to Pars Today, Liberation wrote that a generation of young French people in their twenties, influenced by a constant stream of war images and videos on social media, has taken serious steps toward defending the people of Gaza. The newspaper said this phenomenon reflects a profound and fundamental transformation in the political awareness of French youth.

The report adds that the clear double standards and discrimination in the handling of humanitarian issues have pushed many young people to leave the sidelines and actively take part in demonstrations and street protests.

According to the report, the goal of these young protesters is to condemn the tragic fate of Palestinians and to object to repeated violations of the ceasefire since it went into effect.

The report also notes that the war in Gaza has shaken consciences across many of France’s leading universities, turning academic spaces into centers of protest and political awareness.

The French daily Le Figaro also reported that over the past month, large crowds repeatedly marched between Place de la République and Place de la Nation in Paris, chanting slogans such as “From Paris to Gaza, resistance!” and “Gaza, Gaza, Paris is with you!” Several left-wing political figures, including Jean-Luc Mélenchon, leader of the party La France Insoumise (France Unbowed), took part in the demonstrations.

Meanwhile, Anne Tuaillon, president of the France Palestine Solidarity Association (AFPS), told Agence France-Presse that it should be remembered that seven weeks after the ceasefire took effect on October 10, nothing has been resolved. Condemning the rapid acceleration of settlement activity in the West Bank and the unprecedented rise in settler violence, she said sanctions are necessary, adding that this is the only way to force Israel to comply with international law.
