Qalibaf’s account of Trump’s retreat on Strait of Hormuz

Pars Today – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said that following a warning from Iran, Donald Trump was forced to back down from his position on the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Qalibaf said: “During the latest attack on Dahiyeh, I suspended the negotiations and announced that we would strike the regime that night, and if the regime responded, we would strike the entire region.”

He continued: “The result was that they lifted the blockade that same night, even though under the agreement, it was supposed to be reopened within 30 days. When Trump tweeted that the blockade and the Strait of Hormuz would both be reopened that night, I announced that if the false claim about the Strait of Hormuz was not corrected, we would carry out the attack, and Trump was forced to amend his post.”

He concluded: “This kind of negotiation means confrontation.”
