Pars Today – Iran’s foreign minister has stressed that protecting the environment against military aggression and holding the enemies of the country accountable are an indisputable necessity.
According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi wrote in a social media post that, in part of his remarks at the first international ECOCIDE conference held at the Department of Environment, he had emphasized that environmental destruction during war was a silent crime with consequences extending far beyond the battlefield.
He added that military attacks by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran, as well as strikes on the country’s oil and energy facilities, had created serious environmental hazards that could threaten human health, natural resources and the right of future generations to enjoy a healthy environment.
Araghchi stressed that protecting the environment against military aggression and holding the enemies of this land accountable were an indisputable necessity.
“We will neither forgive nor forget!” he concluded.
