Pars Today – Iran’s deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs has said the country is prepared for any scenario, stressing that it is ready for both diplomacy and war, as well as defending the country.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Kazem Gharibabadi told Al Araby TV that Tehran was finalizing its response to the US side’s concerns and views regarding Iran’s proposal submitted in New York.

Referring to negotiations between Iran and the United States, he stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran had continued to participate in the talks, but the US side had violated its commitments under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding.

Gharibabadi also told a news conference with domestic and foreign media representatives in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran, on Sunday night that the seven-day plan had been conveyed through intermediaries and mediators, and that Tehran had received the US side’s views and was reviewing them. He said Iran would announce its response through the same channels after completing its internal assessment.

However, he added, a return to normal conditions and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz depended entirely on the United States returning to its previous commitments.

Gharibabadi stressed that the US return to its commitments was an essential and inseparable part of the process, and that any subsequent action by the Islamic Republic would depend on it.
