China sends message of condolence following Bandar Abbas explosion

Pars Today – Chinese president, Xi Jinping, in a message on Tuesday (29 April) to his Iranian counterpart, expressed his condolences to president Masoud Pezeshkian, following a powerful and deadly explosion at the Port of Shahid Rajaee in Bandar Abbas in southern Iran, which has claimed the lives of at least 70 people so far.

In his message of condolence to president Pezeshkian, the Chinese president declared: "I was upset and shocked when hearing the news of the powerful and deadly explosion in Bandar Abbas which has claimed so many lives, and caused such heavy financial loss". 

Part of president Xi Jinping's message reads: "Thus, on behalf of the Chinese people and the Chinese government, I express my heart-felt sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims of this tragedy, all those who have been injured, and all those who live in the affected area"./ IRNA
