Iranian envoy to Vatican meets with Pope Leo XIV

Pars Today –During a Saturday meeting of Vatican diplomats with Pope Leo XIV, the Iranian ambassador to the Vatican expressed hope that under the new leadership of the Holy See, new opportunities would arise to expand cultural, religious, and diplomatic exchanges between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Vatican.

In this meeting, which included Mohammad Hossein Mokhtari, Iran’s special and plenipotentiary Ambassador to the Holy See, Pope Leo XIV stated that his mission has begun in the middle of a jubilee year—a year especially dedicated to peace. The Iranian ambassador also highlighted shared values between the two sides and expressed hope that interfaith cooperation could play a significant role in promoting peace, justice, and coexistence./ ISNA
