Pars Today – The special envoy of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Islamophobia said on Sunday that some European countries where Islamophobia is on the rise tend to deny its existence, but the testimonies of victims refute such denials.
The OIC envoy stated that the growing anti-Islamic actions and rhetoric around the world are directly linked to political, social, and economic developments. Highlighting the rise of racism, he said: “We are facing a phenomenon called Islamophobia, and although the term is widely used, we must define it as hatred and discrimination against Muslims and evaluate it within the framework of human rights and fundamental freedoms.” (ISNA)
