International organization: Famine in Gaza is deliberate and man-made

Pars Today – The head of the international organization Save the Children, on Wednesday, highlighted the catastrophic situation in Gaza, describing the famine in the Strip as a planned, predictable, and man-made famine.

Janti Soeripto, President of Save the Children International, said that starvation is being used as a deliberate policy and one of the worst forms of warfare, adding that the Israeli regime has the capacity to end this famine but has rejected appeals from dozens of NGOs to allow aid into Gaza.

Soeripto, stressing the global responsibility to stop these atrocities, said that every decision-maker in the world bears both a legal and moral responsibility in this regard.

The president of Save the Children International also expressed deep concern over the growing number of children in Gaza who are wishing for death, noting that many Palestinian children are being held in Israeli military detention centers and are brought before military courts that fail to meet international standards.

Janti Soeripto further called on UN Security Council member states to halt arms transfers to the Israeli regime and to refrain from providing military assistance to this criminal regime. She also underscored the need to support accountability mechanisms and prevent complicity in these atrocities.
