Araghchi: Progress on Iran’s nuclear issue depends on end to excessive demands by the other side
Pars Today – Iran’s Foreign Minister, in New York for the annual UN General Assembly, said any progress on the country’s nuclear file hinges on the other parties’ responsibility and their cessation of excessive demands and misuse of the UN Security Council to pressure Iran.
In a meeting with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Seyed Abbas Araghchi reviewed the latest status of Tehran–IAEA cooperation. Highlighting Iran’s goodwill and responsible approach to the nuclear issue, Araghchi said progress depends on the other parties’ accountability and an end to their excessive demands and misuse of the UN Security Council to pressure Iran.
Grossi, for his part, praised Iran’s constructive approach, particularly the Cairo understanding, and emphasized the need for all parties to use diplomatic capacities to prevent further escalation.
