It’s playtime! This international game festival in Tehran showcases local and mostly ancient games indigenous to different nations.

According to Press TV, representatives from 24 countries, including Germany, Nigeria, Pakistan and the US have attended the event to put on display their cultures and local games.

'Pin the tail on the donkey' is one of my favorites; it seems I have got a knack for it; bingo!

It's one the most popular games played around the world, but interestingly, its roots go back to the US! American-born Elaheh says this event is not all bout fun!

Pachisi is another old game which goes by the name of Parcheesi in the US and Mench in Iran. It originated in Medieval India and later was copied in Germany by the new name of Mensch Ärgere Dich Nicht which means 'Don't get angry, man!' Pakistanis still play the old version of it.

Aside from introducing local games to visitors, this event also provides a cordial atmosphere, where people of different nations get together and spend friendly time playing each others' games.

Organizers believe by bringing together people of different languages in this event they want to convey the message that peace does not require a common language or shared beliefs.
