  • Iran voices readiness to help Cyclone-hit Oman

Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian announces Iran’s readiness to provide assistance to Oman as the latter struggles with the aftermath of tropical cyclone Shaheen.

Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks during a phone call with his Omani counterpart Badr Albusaidi on Monday.

“Iran is prepared to provide all types of assistance to Oman,” the Iranian top diplomat noted, empathizing with the Omani people and government over the tragedy.

Omani official had offered an initial death toll of three from the cyclone, including a child, who had lost his life in a flash flood, but later revised the number of fatalities upwards to an overall of 10.

The Omani official, for his part, expressed his gratitude towards the Islamic Republic over the offer of assistance but said the situation was no longer critical and that the government was now in control.

The officials, meanwhile, voiced their respective satisfaction with the favorable quality of the bilateral ties, expressing a willingness towards further expansion of the relations.
