  • West fomenting Iranophobia to justify its illegal acts: Spokesman

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman slammed the Western media fuss about Iran as a futile attempt to provoke Iranophobia and justify the US and Europe’s illegal and anti-human rights measures.

According to Tasnim news agency, Nasser Kan'ani said in a post on his Twitter account on Saturday night “The media furor of the US regime and some European countries over Iran is a futile Iranophobic attempt aimed at justifying their illegal and anti-human rights actions against the Iranian people.”

“Creating external crises and playing a blame game is a threadbare tactic of the West and the apartheid Zionist regime to cover up their internal crises amid repeated popular protests and strikes, particularly when they are facing tough challenges on the international stage,” the Iranian spokesman added.

Meanwhile, Kan’ani has denounced the decision of organizers at the annual Munich Security Conference (MSC) not to invite any Iranian officials to this year’s event and ask infamous figures opposed to the Islamic establishment to attend instead, stating that enemies will soon kneel down before the Iranian nation’s perseverance and strength.

“Those who turn a blind eye on 44 years of the unparalleled presence of the vast majority of Iranians in rallies in support of the country, the [Islamic] Revolution, and their leadership and opt for a number of identityless clowns, neither do believe in democracy nor have any knowledge about the Revolution and the Iranian nation,” Kan’ani wrote in a post published on his official Twitter page on Saturday, accompanied by a picture of Iranians taking part in a mass rally on the anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.

He went on to note that enemies and opponents "will soon have to kneel down before the perseverance, strength, and greatness of the Iranian nation."
