Iranian volleyball players crown Asian championship for 8th time; South Korea takes second place
Pars Today - The Iranian national youth volleyball team won the Asian Volleyball Championship title by defeating South Korea in the final match.
The 2024 Asian Men's Under-20 Volleyball Championship was held in Surabaya, Indonesia, over eight days. According to Pars Today, the Iranian national youth volleyball team won six consecutive matches on the final day of the competition to reach the championship title, defeating South Korea 3-0.
The squad of "Gholam Reza Momeni Moghaddam" won the three sets with scores of 25-12, 25-18, and 25-22, securing their seventh consecutive win and claiming the championship title. This is their third consecutive championship title, having won the previous two titles as well.
In the third-place match, Japan defeated Indonesia 3-1 to take third place.
This year, the Iranian youth volleyball team participated in the competition for the 18th time. In the previous 17 editions, they have won 12 medals, including seven gold, three silver, and two bronze medals. With this year's championship, they bring home their 22nd trophy, which is their eighth Asian volleyball championship title in this age category.
