Pars Today - The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the anniversary of the 28 Mordad coup (August 1953) referring to the role of the US and Britain in this coup, emphasized: The shame of overthrowing the elected government of the people in Iran through the 28 Mordad coup in 1332 (Iranian calendar) will stain the foreheads of the US and British regimes forever.

Nasser Kan'ani, wrote on the anniversary of the 28 Mordad coup in 1332 on the X social network: "Slavery, colonialism, coups, and military interventions in other countries are only part of the dark and shameful record of US and British interventions in the world." According to Pars Today, Kanani added: The shame of overthrowing the elected government of Dr. Mossadegh in Iran through the 28 Mordad coup in 1332 (1953) and political, security, and military support for despotism will stain the foreheads of the US and British regimes forever.

Kan'ani added: These two countries, with such a dark record, are currently supporting the fake and racist Israeli regime and genocide in Gaza without limit, and at the same time, they consider themselves the champions of human rights and democracy.

Today, Sunday, the first court hearing of the 28 Mordad coup case was held simultaneously with the anniversary of this historical event and after 71 years in Branch 55 of the International Affairs of the Tehran Province Judiciary.

The court of the 28 Mordad coup in 1332 (the lawsuit of Iranian citizens against the perpetrators of the 28 Mordad coup, including the US government, the US Department of State, the Central Intelligence Agency, the US Department of the Treasury, the US House of Representatives, and the Federal Reserve) began with the lawsuit of more than 400,000 people under the presidency of Judge Majid Hosseinzadeh.

The lawsuit in this case had 13 main articles, which referred to the damages caused by the coup.

The most important damage is the actions of the US and Britain in plundering Iran's oil and, of course, imposing 25 years of Pahlavi despotism on the Iranian people, which is mentioned in the lawsuit.

On August 28, 1332 (1953), a number of army forces of the Pahlavi regime, in cooperation with the US and Britain, overthrew the government of "Mohammad Mossadegh" (the then prime minister) and restored "Mohammad Reza Pahlavi" to power, who had fled abroad. With the fall of Mossadegh's government, the presence of colonial powers, which had been temporarily interrupted, returned to Iran.

The 28 Mordad coup was part of the US and British interventions at the time of the victory of the nationalization of the oil industry in Iran.
