  • Golden night of Iranian Paralympic squad / three gold medals and setting new record

Pars Today- The Iranian Paralympic athletes on the ninth day of the Paralympic games in Paris, besides gaining three gold medals in weightlifting, weight throw and sitting volleyball, broke an international record, too.

The 17th round of Paralympic games in Paris has begun since August 27 and will continue till September 8 with 4,400 athletes from 188 countries who compete in 22 fields. 65 Iranian athletes have participated the international event in 10 fields. According to Pars Today, the Iranian sitting volleyball team played the final game with Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday evening and defeated the rival 3-1 to be the gold winner of the field for the 8th successive time.

During the Paralympic running in Stat de France stadium, Yasin Khosravi won men's gold in men's shot put with throwing 15.96 m. Thus, he broke the previous Paralympic record, too.

Rouhollah Rostami, Iranian weightlifter, also, won gold medal with lifting 242 kg. Lifting this weight, Rostami broke the global and Paralympic record after 8 years. He broke his own record with 1 kg.

On the ninth day of the Paris 2024 Paralympic games, the Iranian squad ranked 14th with 6 gold, 10 silver and 6 bronze medals.
