  • Pakistan Women University welcomes development of Iranian studies

Pars Today - The president of the Women's University of Rawalpindi, Pakistan, announced the university's readiness to establish an Iranian studies department during a meeting with the cultural attaché of the Iranian embassy.

Mehdi Taheri, the cultural attaché and head of the Iranian Cultural Center in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, visited the Women University and met with the university's president, Anila Kamal. According to Pars Today, Anila Kamal welcomed the development of bilateral cooperation with the Iranian Cultural Center and highlighted the potential for cooperation with Iranian universities, particularly Alzahra University, in the fields of science, culture, art, Persian language and literature, joint research projects, and academic and student exchanges.

Anila Kamal added that the Iranian Cultural Center and the Women University of Rawalpindi can organize joint programs for teaching Persian language and commemorating the works of Iqbal Lahori and other prominent figures.

Taheri, for his part, emphasized the importance of scientific and academic cooperation with Pakistani universities, highlighting the international reputation of Iranian universities, with 73 Iranian universities ranked in the Times Higher Education (THE) system.

The Iranian cultural attaché also emphasized the potential for cooperation in various fields, including student and faculty exchanges, joint research and educational projects, information exchange, and the organization of scientific, artistic, and cultural conferences. He also stressed the importance of establishing Persian language classes and an Iranian studies department at the Women University of Rawalpindi.
