Nowruzi: South Africa shining like star in support for Palestine / Francis Moloi: We appreciate Iran
Pars Today- Vice-President for World Service of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), in a meeting with the South African ambassador in Tehran, referring to the common approaches of both countries in struggle against oppression, said, "South Africa is shining like a star in support for the Palestinian people and it has managed to play an effective role in this regard."
Ahmad Nowruzi, IRIB Vice-President for World Service, in his meeting with Sehloho Francis Moloi, the South African Ambassador to Tehran, remembering the struggles of South Africa in the international arena, added, "Hosting you and meeting you here is very encouraging. We feel solidarity with the struggle which South Africa has gone through, especially after Nelson Mandela, the late leader of the struggle for freedom of South Africa."
Pointing to the common approaches of both countries in fighting oppression, Nowruzi stressed, "These days, South Africa is shining like a star in support for the Palestinian people and it has managed to play an effective role in this regard."
IRIB Vice-President for World Service continued, "The world must be ashamed of the events that occur in Gaza and Lebanon today as it has kept silent towards these criminal actions."
The South African envoy to Tehran, for his part, pointing to the good relations of Iran and South Africa during the past years, said, "The relations of the two countries date back to years ago and have been formed from the struggle for justice and freedom. Thus, we as South Africa, will always appreciate the outstanding role that the Iranian country and people have fulfilled in our struggles for freedom."
Sehloho Francis Moloi added, "We should deepen our relations in various fields such as economy, culture, sciences and all fields of mutual interests both in the bilateral, international and multilateral levels."
Referring to the South African complaint against the Zionist regime in the International Court of Justice (ICJ), he said, "No matter if Israel wants to obey temporary measures or not, our efforts will not cease in this regard. We strongly believe that justice will triumph."
The South African ambassador in Iran, then pointed to the meeting of the presidents of South Africa and Iran in Russia, and stated, "I have been informed that the presidents of both countries talked about the issues like genocide in Gaza and this shows the closeness of the two countries' views."
Francis Moloi went on to say, "The crime in Gaza and Lebanon is among the most important issues now and we, as aligned countries, should address this issue via the global ruling institutions and give it coefficient so that this genocide is stopped and the perpetrators are put on trial."
The South African envoy to Tehran concluded, "We, as the South African embassy, are pursuing the idea of setting up an exhibition in this regard so that we use it as a means to highlight genocide in Gaza."
