Pars Today – A media expert stated that women in Iran have advanced in scientific, social, and cultural fields at an exceptional pace since the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

According to Pars Today, media expert Ahmad Nazarpoor said that, contrary to the claims of Western media, Iranian women have progressed rapidly in scientific, social, and cultural development since the Islamic Revolution, and these achievements cannot be denied. Referring to international statistics about the status of Iranian women after the Revolution, he added: “Today, women make up 70% of medical students and 60% of all university students in Iran.”

This media expert emphasized that the share of Iranian women in engineering fields has reached 70%, and that Iran ranks first in the world in the growth rate of women’s higher education. He also stressed that reducing women’s illiteracy in Iran—from about 60% before the Revolution to less than 10%—is among the most important transformations of this period.

Nazarpoor also pointed to other examples of unprecedented progress for Iranian women under the Islamic Revolution, including: an increase in women’s life expectancy from 54 to 78 years; the growth in the number of female instructors from 9 to 35,000; the expansion of women’s sports disciplines from 7 to 38; and the rise in women’s representation on university faculties from 14% to 30%.
