Pars Today – Iran's Under-18 girls' five-a-side field hockey team has advanced to the semifinals of the Asian Championship.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, Iran secured a place among Asia's final four at the Asian U-18 Five-a-Side Field Hockey Championship in Muscat, Oman, after finishing top of its group at the end of the group stage.
In the opening match of the return round, the Iranian team suffered a hard-fought 5–2 defeat to Pakistan. However, the young Iranian players bounced back emphatically in their next match, crushing host nation Oman 6–0 with an outstanding performance.
With these results, Iran progressed to the semifinals as the group winner and will now face China, the silver medalist at the Paris Olympics.
