Al Jazeera: Iran determines which vessels pass through Persian Gulf

Pars Today – A senior maritime intelligence and security analyst said that Iran determines which vessels pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Pars Today, citing Tasnim News Agency, Al Jazeera English quoted Aaron Kennedy, a senior maritime intelligence and security analyst at a global risk consultancy firm, as saying that Iran is currently determining which ships can enter or leave the Persian Gulf.

Kennedy emphasized: “Iran decides which vessels can enter and exit the Persian Gulf and attacks ships that attempt to pass through without Iran’s permission.”

He added that even if the United States provides “a limited level of protection” for vessels using this corridor, it would not be sufficient to prevent attacks by Iran.
