Iranian film selected for French international film festival

The Iranian film "Bahman" directed by Seyyed Morteza Sabzeghaba has been selected to participate in the 6th Fenêtre sur Courts International Film Festival in France. The film had previously been nominated for best film at the 2nd Asian Film Festival in the Philippines and the 1st Venice International Film Festival in Italy.

 

Foreign guests visit Museum of Sacred Defense

A group of foreign guests attending the ceremony to commemorate the anniversary of Imam Khomeini's passing visited the Museum of Sacred Defense in Tehran and learned about the events that led to the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the Iran-Iraq War, and the resistance of the Iranian people against the terrorist group Daesh.

First Iran Book Award to be held in Austria

The first Iran Book Award organized by the Cultural Representation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Vienna, will be held in Austria in February 2025, with the aim of promoting cultural exchanges between Iran and Austria and supporting Austrian Iranologists and German-speaking scholars. 

The award will be given to the best books written in German in the past 20 years, covering topics such as wisdom and Islamic philosophy, Shia school of thought, Iranian-Islamic culture, Iranian art and literature, Persian language, Iranian history, ancient Iranian artifacts, and Iranian tourism.

 

Ancient city of Harireh in Kish Island to be registered with UNESCO

Mehdi Adiban, Deputy Director of Tourism for the Kish Free Zone Organization in Iran, referring to the temporary registration of the thousand-year-old city of Harireh on this island with UNESCO, stated: "Before the final global registration of this historical site, the ancient city of Harireh will be registered with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) this December."

The ancient city of Harireh is located in the north of Kish Island in southern Iran. The city's formation dates back to the second half of the 4th century AH.

Iranian music album selected as one of the top 10 in the world

The British music magazine Songlines has selected Mohsen Sharifian's album "Luca" as one of the top 10 albums in the world in the bagpipe section in May 2024. 

The album by "Davy Spillane," the Irish bagpipe player and Grammy Award winner, is also among the selections of "Songlines" magazine.

 

Iranian artists win honors at Bulgarian film festival

The Iranian animation "Noof" by Zahra Khorshidi Paji and the documentary film "Kal Fatemeh" by Mehdi Zamanpour Kiasari have been selected to receive honors at the 3rd Golden Femi Film Festival in Bulgaria.

 

Armenian professor praises women's status in Iran

Isabella Moradian, a professor from Armenia emphasized that women in Iran, while having families, also pursue education and various careers. She said, "In different countries, I had heard negative things about Iran. But I have seen that all of them are untrue."
