What warning did Iran give to the European Troika?
Pars Today - The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran warned the European Troika about taking any political action against Iran in the Board of Governors, saying: "Issuing a resolution against Iran naturally gives Tehran the right to take reciprocal and immediate action."
While Rafael Grossi was in Tehran negotiating and talking to Iranian officials to continue interaction and resolve differences, some media outlets quoted diplomats as saying that the governments of Germany, France, and the UK are trying to issue a resolution against Iran at this week's meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
According to Pars Today, Iranian officials announced their readiness to fully cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency within the framework of the "NPT" and safeguards, while standing firm against any political pressure.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a meeting with Rafael Grossi, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency: "What the Islamic Republic of Iran is pursuing in nuclear technology is exactly in line with the framework and legal permits of the International Atomic Energy Agency."
Pezeshkian added: "We, as we have proven our goodwill before and repeatedly, announce our readiness to cooperate and converge with this international organization to resolve ambiguities and alleged doubts about Iran's peaceful nuclear activities, although the world has also come to believe that Islamic Iran is pursuing peace and security in the world."
Pezeshkian also referred to the JCPOA agreement and the US and European countries' breach of it, saying: "As confirmed by several reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency, we have fulfilled all our obligations under this agreement, but it was the US that unilaterally withdrew from the JCPOA and made it impossible to continue this path."
Rafael Grossi praised the peaceful and consensus-based approach of the Pezeshkian government and the cooperation of the officials of the Atomic Energy Organization and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the International Atomic Energy Agency, and reviewed the overall relations and good interactions between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Agency.
He said: We deeply believe that your presidency will mark a new chapter of good and positive relations between Iran and the Agency.
Grossi also wrote on the X social network about his meeting with President Pezeshkian, saying: "My meeting with Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, was an important part of my trip and an opportunity to hear his views and explain our efforts to address one of the most challenging international issues."
The reality is that some claims about Iran's peaceful nuclear activities refer to issues that were resolved during the negotiations leading to the JCPOA, but after the US withdrawal from the JCPOA and the pressure from the Zionists on the Agency, these issues were raised again as points of disagreement.
Despite the dominance of political issues over the supervisory and technical role of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Iran has made every effort to cooperate with the Agency to end the claims that were previously resolved, but Western countries have continued to disrupt the cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency as a tool to pressure Iran.
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi told Rafael Grossi in this regard: "There is no reasonable solution other than the negotiating path to solve these problems. The path of confrontation has been tried before, and it can be tried again in the future. Resolutions have been tried before, and they can be tried again.
Resolutions have not only failed to help solve the problem but have also complicated it and caused more concerns for those who have issued them.
The path of confrontation is not beneficial for any party. The path of cooperation must be adopted. We are ready to cooperate in this regard, and we hope that the opposing parties will adopt a wise policy."
Mohammad Eslami, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, warned at a joint press conference with Rafael Grossi: "Any resolution on Iran's nuclear issues will be met with an immediate response from Iran. They have experienced several times that Iran will not be influenced by pressure and will pursue its program within the framework of its national interests."
