  • Completion of water supply to 10 thousand villages till end of Iranian year1403 / Iran ranks first globally in drinking water management

Pars Today- CEO of Water and Wastewater Engineering Company of Iran (ABFA) informed of completion of water supply to 10 thousand villages across the country till the end of the current Iranian year (started on March 19).

The average global rainfall is 800-850 millimeters. This figure is 600-650 in Asia and 200-250 in Iran.

According to Pars Today, Hashem Amini, the CEO of ABFA said, "Till now, from among 10 thousand Iranian villages, water supply for 5700 villages has been completed and the benefit index of country's villages from drinking and hygienic water has reached %37."

Amini added, "With planning and management there is no serious concern for securing water in Iran."

According to this official, the ministry of energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has focused its planning since last October on passing through the summer peak, in proportion with the rate of rainfall, with no cut in water supply."

The newest reports of the World Bank indicate that Iran ranks first in terms of access to drinking water in urban and rural sectors among the regional countries.

The percentage of access to drinking water in urban and rural regions in Iran is %99.83 and %82 respectively. This is while, these indexes are %85.7 and %59.6 in the world and %83.2 and %69.5 for the region respectively.
