English media claim: Turkey's exports to Israel continue through Greece

Pars Today - The Middle East Eye news website claims that trade between Turkey and Israel continues through third-party countries like Greece, despite Ankara's announcement that it has completely halted trade with the Zionist regime in response to its crimes in Gaza.

According to the English-language media outlet, statistics published by the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics show that the regime has imported goods worth $116 million from Turkey in May 2024, a 69% decrease compared to the same month last year, which was $377 million.

Pars Today reports that two traders who facilitated this process told Middle East Eye that Turkish goods have been transported through Greece and other countries near the Occupied Territories since early May this year.

This claim comes despite Ankara's announcement that it would completely halt trade with Israel until a permanent ceasefire is established in Gaza.

Turkey was the first Muslim country to recognize the Israeli regime and establish bilateral relations with it.

Bilateral relations between Turkey and the Zionist regime normalized in 1949 and later reached cultural, commercial, and even military levels.

Turkish President Erdogan was also the first Muslim leader to visit the grave of Theodor Herzl, the founder of Zionism, in the occupied Palestinian territories.
