  • Zionists' Guantanamo in Negev desert: Exposure of savage tortures in Israeli jails

Pars Today- The Palestinians, who have recently been released from the prisons of the Zionist regime, are in so dire conditions that cause serious questions to come to the minds on these prisons and how Zionists treat them.

The Europe-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has just issued a statement on raping of Palestinian captives in the Zionist regime prisons and announced that these captives are subjected to barbaric murder and torture. According to Pars Today, existing documents reveal constant violation of humanitarian rules in the Israeli dungeons including Sedi Timan which is located in a military base belonging to the southern command of the Occupying regime 5 kilometers northwest of Be'er Sheva city in Negev desert. It is a detention center reminding of the gruesome and notorious Guantanamo prison. The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor stressed, "The prisons and detention centers of the Zionist regime have turned into the centers bloodier than the American Guantanamo prison and different types of savage tortures, misbehavior, insult and humiliation of prisoners are rampant there."

Murder, severe beating, cage prison, keeping prisoners with tied hands and feeding them with hey are just part of what is going on behind the walls of this base and has leaked out. For sure, this is just the tip of the iceberg and the reality is much worse.

Palestinians captivated by Zionist regime

The Arabic daily al-Arabi al-Jadid has just got evidence revealing that there are detainees in this base or other jails of the Zionist regime who have been under treatment for several weeks due to the impacts of tortures and some of them suffer from spiritual and physical problems.

These findings, in addition to the reports of Zionist sources, is the evidence which has been announced by Haaretz paper about the cases of illegal death and gradual death and various kinds of tortures in this detention center. These have been disclosed by an Israeli doctor working at a field hospital of Sedi Timan base.

This Israeli physician, sending a letter to the Zionist regime's war minister, Yoav Gallant and other relevant officials, has warned against continuation of illegal acts in this base.

Al-Jazeera channel had recently showed a video of the Palestinian boxer, Muazzaz Abiyat, in poor health conditions. He said in this video, "My brothers are martyred every day in Negev prison. We are three thousand prisoners whom the Israeli jailers beat every night. They don’t give us food. There is no bathroom and things happen here which no mind can believe."

The Algerian daily al-Khabar wrote on the video, "The world has closed its eye hypocritically to the genocidal events and violation of the least human rights in Gaza and towards the Palestinian captives. With the lapse of each day, a new horrible story is heard of the crimes of the Israeli occupiers in their prisons."

The Arabic website of BBC, too, wrote on this issue, "The pictures of Muazzaz Abiyat have raised questions on the social networks about what is happening in the Israeli prisons."

Asadullah Haroun, one of the former inmates of the American Guantanamo prison, looking at the Palestinians incarcerated by Israel, reminds well his tough days with tortures in the American detention center.

Haroun was detained in 2007 and kept for 16 years in Guantanamo without any charge. He said that the Palestinians being jailed in the Israeli prisons are tolerating similar behavior to those of Guantanamo.

Al-Jazeera website, quoting from another ex-Gitmo inmate, confirming the similarity of the Israeli and American tortures, wrote, "Those having experienced the similar torture and harassment by the forces under the US command in Iraq and Afghanistan, agree with these narrations.

Torture of Palestinian prisoners by Zionists

Muazam Beig is a human rights defender who had been in Guantanamo for three and a half years on no charges. He, too, refers to similarities between the conducts of American and Israeli militaries. He said, "There is a clear, complete and undeniable similarity between the Israeli prisons and Guantanamo in terms of behavior towards inmates, stripping and insulting them."

Lovi al-Tawil is a Palestinian who was in the Israeli dungeons for many years and has just been freed. He points to the tortures enforced on Palestinians and says, "The Israeli prisons are just like the notorious Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo prisons. My transfer to Negev was shocking. The captives who were brought here would be stripped in a very humiliating manner and would be beaten and insulted severely."

Aseel al-Titi, is a Palestinian woman who also likened the Israeli prisons to Guantanamo. Al-Alam Arabic news agency, quoting from her, wrote, "Our conditions were very unpleasant and inhumane. Female prisoners were beaten and tortured in various ways in prisons."

The similarities of Guantanamo and Sedi Timan are not limited to the way of treating inmates. These two centers justify themselves in a self-styled manner as they resort to hollow argumentations and similar narratives to provide legal disguise for their excessively bestial conducts. The Zionist regime is also trying hard to keep the media and legal experts away from its dungeons and military bases like Sedi Timan.
