‘Afghanistan next destination for Washington to nurture Salafi terrorism’

Chairman of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh warned that the US is preparing the ground to transfer the Salafi terrorists from Syria and Iraq to Afghanistan.

"The Americans are attempting to prevent death of Salafi terrorism and certainly the next piece of this puzzle is strengthening the Daesh terrorists in Afghanistan," Falahatpisheh said on Sunday.

"The next step is transferring the terrorists, specially their defeated leaders, from Syria and Iraq to Afghanistan and reinvigorating them in the region," he added.

Falahatpisheh said if the Americans' claim that the Daesh is an extremist and independent ‘Islamist’ group was true, the terrorist group should now have launched attacks against Israel and its important cities, including Tel Aviv and Haifa.

In relevant remarks earlier this month, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani had also warned of Washington's new plots against the regional states by relocating terrorists to Afghanistan and Central Asia.

"The problem of terrorism has not terminated yet, of course, and it is possible that the terrorists create problems for the regional people in different forms because the Americans have hatched a new plot against the region and are transferring the terrorists to Afghanistan, Central Asia and the Caucasus," President Rouhani said, addressing the Iraqi elites, tribal leaders and religious leaders in Baghdad.
