US President Donald Trump has published more "misleading" information about the COVID-19 disease, prompting Twitter to remove the tweet.

Trump, in a tweet on Tuesday, once again compared COVID-19 to the common flu, downplaying the highly contagious disease that has so far killed 214,000 in the US alone raising widespread objection to his leadership failure in handling the pandemic.

Trump also claimed that more than 100,000 Americans die from the common flu in some years.

This is while the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) puts the number of annual deaths from the common flu at between 12,000 to 61,000 annually.

In reaction to the misinformation, Twitter deleted Trump's tweet pointing out that it violated the social media's rules and regulations "about spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19."

In the meantime, Trump, who returned  "back to work" at the White House on Monday, has endangered the staff there by violating CDC guidelines about those infected with coronavirus

“Don’t be afraid of Covid,” he tweeted late Monday spurring immediate backlash from the media about Trump's reckless leadership resulting in numerous unwarranted deaths.

Trump, who had reportedly concealed his disease when he first tested positive, is expected to receive further treatment at the White House.

His return has raised questions about how the heavy-staffed White House was going to protect its personnel from catching the coronavirus from the president.
