  • Moscow warns: Russia's nuclear doctrine is changing due to Western actions

Pars Today - The deputy foreign minister of Russia warned that the West's actions in Ukraine are changing Russia's nuclear doctrine.

According to Russia's 2020 nuclear doctrine, the President of the country examines the time of use of nuclear weapons, and this time is generally determined in response to a nuclear attack or other weapons of mass destruction, or conventional weapons that threaten the country's existence.

According to Pars Today, Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, had previously announced that Moscow could test a nuclear weapon if necessary, although he emphasized that there is no need to do so at the moment.

In a new statement, however, Sergei Ryabkov, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister, announced: "Russia will change its nuclear doctrine based on the analysis of the latest conflicts and Western actions regarding the special military operation in Ukraine."

Ryabkov said: "As we have said many times before, the work on the doctrine is at an advanced stage, and there is a clear intention to revise [the nuclear doctrine]."The Russian diplomat emphasized that Russia is considering all cases related to the escalation of Western enemies' actions regarding the special military operation in revising its nuclear doctrine.

He also warned: "We have repeatedly told the United States to refrain from interfering and involving its mercenaries in attacks on our soil.

"Earlier, Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, noted at a press conference that foreign mercenaries are actively participating in the attack on the Kursk region.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Kiev has lost more than 8,200 military personnel and 76 tanks since the start of the conflict in Kursk.
