Mass layoffs at US State Department: Over 1,000 employees terminated

Pars Today – More than one thousand US State Department employees have been laid off as part of the government's efforts to downsize the federal workforce.

Continuing President Donald Trump’s initiative to reduce the size of government, over 1,000 State Department employees were laid off. The layoffs affected 1,107 employees in the Civil Service and 246 in the Foreign Service. Earlier this year, more than 1,500 State Department employees voluntarily resigned and accepted buyouts as part of the Department’s restructuring plans. /Mehr news agency
